Bethesda mom Patrice Moerman (of the group Hot Flash) will rock the suburbs! At 52, the graphic artist turned rock singer/songwriter may have started listening to her muse a little later than most, but she's made up for her late blooming with passion and vigor. Moerman now not only has a CD to her credit but also coordinated DC Mamapalooza, an all-mom music fest. A former shy girl herself, when Moerman, described by one reviewer as "Sheryl Crow with the maturity and bluesy heart and soul of Bonnie Raitt," takes the stage, she'll be sure to send one out to the shy girls in the audience. Her first moment of inspiration came in front of her dryer, when she suddenly felt it was time to stop thinking about writing music and just try.
